Cisco Introduces Fresh Software, Hardware & Operational Strategy to Boost Hybrid Cloud Uptake

By integrating Cisco Intersight with public cloud platforms, Cisco now offers a unified operating model bolstered by governance and cross-cloud visibility over both virtual machines and Kubernetes clusters.

Cisco has introduced several innovations aimed at accelerating and streamlining hybrid cloud adoption for its customers.

As application ecosystems expand and interactions between people and devices multiply, enterprises increasingly demand simplicity and flexibility in managing diverse workloads. Modern applications grow more dynamic, and infrastructure must evolve in tandem. Meanwhile, IT teams face mounting pressure to support shifting business priorities and to expedite both infrastructure and application delivery.

Consequently, many organizations are migrating toward a hybrid multicloud model—centrally controlling infrastructure and applications irrespective of their location while delivering optimized performance. In fact, a Gartner end-user survey found that 76 % of respondents already leveraging public, hybrid or multicloud infrastructures reported using multiple cloud IaaS and PaaS providers.
Cisco’s strategy is advancing on all fronts of the hybrid cloud stack—from silicon and compute systems to a SaaS-delivered operations layer with public cloud integration—all designed to help customers simplify the management of multiple cloud environments and applications.

“Many enterprises have standardized on hybrid, multicloud environments, yet struggle to minimize complexity while maximizing value through an operational model and tooling that deliver flexibility, speed, and simplicity,” said DD Dasgupta, Vice President of Product Management in Cisco’s Cloud and Compute Business Unit. “Cisco is enabling IT operations to transform via hybrid cloud, supporting an operational model that allows organizations to respond rapidly and securely deliver applications—whether hosted on-premises or in the public cloud.”
