Kyndryl has announced an agreement to acquire Healthcare IT Leaders, LLC, a technology services company that works with hospitals and health systems.

The planned acquisition will bring Healthcare IT Leaders' healthcare consulting and application managed services capabilities into Kyndryl's portfolio. The move is intended to help Kyndryl respond to increasing demand from healthcare providers and payors for AI-led modernization of their business and technology environments.

Jamie Rutledge, president of Kyndryl U.S., said healthcare organizations must continue advancing clinical, operational and workforce systems while also addressing requirements around resiliency, security and compliance. He added that combining Healthcare IT Leaders' healthcare consulting capabilities with Kyndryl's AI-led modernization expertise will strengthen the company's ability to support healthcare providers and payors.

After the transaction closes, Kyndryl plans to integrate Healthcare IT Leaders' consulting capabilities across clinical, operational and workforce applications with its own infrastructure and AI expertise. The combination is intended to give healthcare organizations access to a single provider covering applications, technology platforms and the IT environments supporting them.

Kyndryl already manages large-scale and highly regulated IT environments for healthcare organizations across the United States. Through the addition of Healthcare IT Leaders, Kyndryl expects to strengthen its relationships with major national healthcare systems and expand its presence across the application and consulting aspects of those environments.

The combined capabilities will support healthcare systems and hospitals across federal, academic, pediatric and regional segments. These organizations are dealing with increasingly complex workforce requirements while operating in a highly regulated industry.

Financial details of the proposed transaction have not been disclosed. Kyndryl expects the acquisition to close in the second quarter of its fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory review.
