Vertiv Establishes New Training and Technology Excellence Hub in Pune to Develop Critical Infrastructure Talent
Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has announced the launch of its new Vertiv Training Academy and Technology Excellence Center at the company’s Integrated Business Services (IBS) hub in Pune, India. The new facility underscores Vertiv’s commitment to talent development, operational excellence, and technological innovation across data centers and digital infrastructure worldwide.
Purpose-Built Academy for Immersive Learning
The Vertiv Training Academy is designed to deliver comprehensive, hands-on learning experiences for professionals across colocation/cloud, enterprise, communication networks, and commercial and industrial data center environments. The academy will serve Vertiv service engineers, technical sales specialists, business partners, and industry practitioners seeking real-world exposure to modern digital infrastructure operations.
The open-format environment features live demonstrations of cutting-edge equipment—including cooling distribution units (CDUs), power switchgear systems, three-phase UPS modules, and thermal management technologies—replicating real-world data center conditions for practical learning and technical mastery.
“This training academy will play a pivotal role in upskilling engineers and customers to design and service both new and existing data centers.”
— Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director, Vertiv India
Driving Innovation Through Advanced R&D Labs
Complementing the academy, the Technology Excellence Center hosts advanced engineering and R&D laboratories dedicated to innovation in power and thermal management. These labs support end-to-end testing, validation, and optimization of Vertiv solutions, enhancing reliability, energy efficiency, and environmental performance for data centers and telecom networks globally.
Majumdar emphasized Pune’s importance as a key global delivery hub for Vertiv, adding that the growing demand for AI-driven data center capacity will require a highly skilled and continuously updated workforce. The new academy is expected to play a central role in meeting this demand.
Strengthening Vertiv’s Global Services Ecosystem
Ryan Jarvis, Vice President, Global Services Business Unit at Vertiv, highlighted India’s strategic importance:
“India is an integral part of Vertiv’s global services ecosystem. This launch strengthens our ability to scale capabilities, embed best practices, and deliver consistent excellence worldwide.”
The new facility further enhances Vertiv’s mission to ensure the continuity, efficiency, and future-readiness of critical digital infrastructure across power and cooling domains.
Building Future-Ready Engineering Talent
David Yao, Senior Director – Pune Hub, noted that the academy will play a significant role in equipping technical talent within Vertiv and across its global customer and partner ecosystem:
“By combining expert trainers with live systems and advanced labs, we are building the skills required for installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement in high-density data center environments.”
Yao added that the academy will act as an innovation engine—deepening engineering expertise, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and accelerating career growth.
Five Training Bays for Real-World Skill Development
The facility includes five specialized training bays covering:
- Power systems
- Cooling architectures
- Thermal management
- Monitoring technologies
- Integrated digital infrastructure tools
Participants gain real-time experience through hands-on implementation in controlled environments that simulate actual customer scenarios. Course content is modular and evolves in alignment with Vertiv’s global roadmap and industry best practices.
Part of a Global Strategy for Continuous Improvement
The Training Academy and Technology Excellence Center align with Vertiv’s broader Hub/IBS strategy and Hub Academy curriculum, which prioritize continuous learning, skill development, and operational excellence across the company’s global delivery network.
This hands-on facility also serves as a hub for emerging technologies, including AI-driven data center systems, advanced power and cooling innovations, and next-generation white space solutions—reinforcing Pune’s position as a global center for digital infrastructure talent and innovation.
