Cloudflare Launches Cloudflare OS, the First Open-Source AI Workspace Built Around How Companies Actually Work
Cloudflare has announced the launch of Cloudflare OS, an open-source AI workspace designed to give every employee secure access to AI tools and internal company systems without requiring new infrastructure or lengthy custom development.
Available today through Cloudflare's open-source repository, Cloudflare OS enables organizations to deploy an AI-powered workspace that integrates with existing enterprise systems while maintaining Zero Trust security. The company also announced that organizations will soon be able to deploy Cloudflare OS directly through Cloudflare or with implementation partners including Presidio and Happy Cog.
Cloudflare OS Brings Enterprise AI Closer to Everyday Work
Traditional enterprise AI tools often lack awareness of an organization's internal systems, workflows, approvals, and business processes. As a result, employees repeatedly provide context while IT teams struggle to manage fragmented AI deployments and rising operational costs.
Cloudflare OS addresses this challenge by allowing organizations to capture company knowledge, workflows, and internal processes once, enabling AI to securely use that context across every employee's workspace.
Built from Cloudflare's Own Enterprise AI Platform
Cloudflare revealed that Cloudflare OS originated as the internal AI platform used by thousands of Cloudflare employees across multiple departments.
Employees use the platform daily to:
- Conduct research
- Create documents using live business data
- Automate repetitive tasks
- Build internal business applications
- Securely access company systems
Since Cloudflare OS runs inside an organization's own Cloudflare account and is open source, businesses retain ownership of their applications, workflows, and enterprise data without becoming dependent on proprietary vendor platforms.
Key Features of Cloudflare OS
AI Workspace for Every Employee
Cloudflare OS provides browser-based AI tools that require no developer expertise. Employees can perform research, generate business documents, and automate workflows independently.
Build and Share AI Applications
Users can instantly convert AI-generated outputs into functional applications complete with isolated databases, access controls, and real-time capabilities—without writing code.
Zero Trust Security by Default
Built on Cloudflare Access, Cloudflare OS verifies every user and request before granting access.
Key security capabilities include:
- AI agents begin with zero permissions
- Access granted only when required
- Governed "Gatekeepers" control AI interactions with internal systems
- Human approval workflows for sensitive actions
Multi-Model AI with Cost Controls
Using Cloudflare AI Gateway, organizations can work with multiple AI model providers instead of being locked into a single vendor.
Administrators can:
- Monitor AI spending
- Set usage budgets
- Apply rate limits
- Route workloads to cost-efficient AI models
"Cloudflare OS is how we run Cloudflare. For AI to truly transform an enterprise, it can't live in a silo or behind a developer bottleneck. Every employee needs the ability to build, iterate, and automate safely. Our employees get AI tools connected to the systems they actually use, and security isn't something IT has to bolt on afterward. We built this because nothing else did what we needed. Now any company can start from where it took us years to get."
Matthew Prince, Co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare
Enterprise Deployment with Global Partners
To support enterprise adoption, Cloudflare is collaborating with leading global systems integrators to customize Cloudflare OS for complex enterprise environments.
Partners will help organizations integrate the platform with existing technology stacks, compliance requirements, and industry-specific workflows.
