Encora’s Hyderabad centre has rapidly evolved from an acquired outpost into one of the company’s most strategic hubs for engineering and innovation. As Shyam Enjeti, Chief Delivery Officer at Encora, shares, the city is now set to become Encora’s second-largest centre after Bengaluru, driven not only by scale but also by a deep, stable talent base. Beyond geography, Enjeti outlines how Encora is helping global enterprises move from AI experimentation to measurable outcomes, powered by its proprietary delivery platform AIVA and a strong belief in ecosystem-driven innovation.
Encora’s India Centre in Hyderabad has become an important engineering hub. Could you share its current scale, focus areas, and how it supports the company’s global delivery goals?
We have centres across India, but Hyderabad is one of our largest. Looking at our roadmap, it is poised to become our second-largest hub within the next few years, potentially on par with Bengaluru.
Hyderabad has been part of our journey for nearly two decades. We acquired a company with a presence here, and since then it has grown into a strategic scale centre. The city is unique—it offers a diverse talent pool, excellent infrastructure, affordable living, and strong stability. Unlike other metros where attrition is high, engineers in Hyderabad, especially mid-career professionals, tend to grow with the organisation rather than constantly moving. This makes it an ideal base for serving large enterprise and GCC customers.
The GCC model is often seen as a response to global AI and cloud talent shortages. How does Encora align engineering outcomes with client objectives?
Many enterprises jumped into AI without a clear strategy. Our approach begins with one question: “What outcomes do you want to achieve?” We start by fixing the data foundation, because without reliable data, AI outputs will always be wrong.
We ensure alignment with client objectives by deploying high-performing, all-star teams who stay closely embedded with customers. They handle initial experimentation, develop minimum viable products, and then transition mature solutions to extended teams—ensuring no knowledge gaps.
For clients needing additional capacity, we proactively seed AI experts and data engineers into their teams and create specialised talent pools based on their tech ecosystems, whether GCP, Azure, or others.
How does your India centre enable rapid experimentation from POC to production, while maintaining quality?
Working with digital-native companies for over 20 years has given us a huge advantage. We codified those learnings into our proprietary AI delivery platform, AIVA.
AIVA offers pre-coded agents for horizontal use cases in software engineering, data, and cloud operations. It acts as our operating system for delivery, currently available on Azure and soon expanding to AWS and GCP. Every Encora engineer is trained on this platform, which ensures standardisation, accelerates learning curves, and delivers consistent quality as projects move from POC to full-scale production.
Can you share a recent customer success led by your India engineering centre?
We partnered with a large US-based specialty grocery chain that struggled to operationalise its data platform for marketing campaigns. Our Hyderabad teams stepped in to redesign and operationalise their campaign strategy using AI.
In just three months, their customer outreach and engagement doubled. More importantly, AI-driven insights were fed back into their supply chain system, allowing them to predict demand for niche, globally sourced products. This created a closed feedback loop—from campaign optimisation to supply chain alignment—demonstrating how AI can solve real-world business problems.
Looking ahead, how is Encora preparing for innovation zones and the IP-linked future?
Our top priority is building robust ecosystem partnerships. The future is not about reinventing what already exists, but about orchestrating and composing capabilities to create the next-generation enterprise.
This is the model we see across the industry—OpenAI, Microsoft, Salesforce, and others are all doubling down on ecosystems. At Encora, we believe success will come from leveraging partnerships, combining strengths, and focusing on outcomes. This philosophy will be our guiding principle for the future.
