Partnership aims to automate procurement payments, improve working capital management, strengthen spend controls, and streamline enterprise financial operations.

Tech Mahindra has announced a partnership with Mastercard to help global enterprises modernize business-to-business (B2B) payments by integrating secure virtual card and payment capabilities directly into enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement platforms.

The collaboration aims to help organizations optimize working capital, improve spending controls, accelerate payment execution and reconciliation, and simplify supplier onboarding while continuing to leverage their existing technology investments.

By combining Tech Mahindra’s enterprise transformation expertise with Mastercard’s embedded payments capabilities and global virtual card ecosystem, the partnership will enable businesses to integrate secure and intelligent payment solutions into procurement, ERP, and financial workflows. The initiative is designed to replace fragmented, traditional payment processes with integrated embedded finance capabilities, helping enterprises improve operational efficiency, strengthen supplier relationships, and enhance fraud prevention, security, and compliance.

Mastercard’s embedded payment capabilities will be integrated into enterprise environments that include leading ERP systems and procure-to-pay and source-to-pay platforms. Integrating payments into existing procurement workflows is expected to help businesses automate transactions, improve financial visibility, and reduce operational complexity across finance, treasury, accounts payable, procurement, and supplier management functions.

Addressing Enterprise Payment Challenges Through Embedded Finance

Businesses are increasingly dealing with complex procurement processes, supply-chain volatility, working capital constraints, fragmented supplier management, and manual approval workflows. Traditional B2B payment systems can also create delays in supplier onboarding and reconciliation while limiting real-time visibility into financial transactions.

Tech Mahindra and Mastercard plan to address these challenges through API-led integration, payment automation, real-time reconciliation, fraud management, and enhanced payment controls embedded within the software environments enterprises already use.

“Enterprises should not have to choose between modern payment capabilities and the technology investments they already rely on,” said Roshan Shetty, BFSI & Public Sector Head, Americas, Tech Mahindra. He added that the partnership will bring payments directly into procurement and finance workflows, enabling enterprises to leverage agentic AI workflows to modernize operations at their own pace while delivering faster and more connected experiences for suppliers.

Rebecca Meeker, SVP of B2B Platforms and Embedded Finance at Mastercard, said embedding payments into enterprise platforms can transform commercial payments from manual processes into integrated and intelligent components of procurement and finance operations.

She added that the partnership combines payments expertise with enterprise transformation capabilities to help organizations automate payment processes, improve visibility and control, optimize working capital, and create more efficient experiences for suppliers.

Unlike standalone payment solutions, the collaboration focuses on integrating financial capabilities directly into existing business processes. This approach is expected to connect procurement modernization with broader ERP and digital transformation initiatives, helping enterprises establish a more automated, connected, and resilient B2B payments ecosystem.
