Built on Cue and Conductor, Interact MCP connects enterprise AI assistants to workplace knowledge and actions across 26 intranet areas, while maintaining existing user permissions and administrative controls.
Interact Software has announced Interact MCP, a Model Context Protocol server designed to make 700 intranet capabilities available to compatible enterprise AI assistants and agents.
Interact MCP connects approved AI assistants with workplace knowledge and tools available through Interact. Employees can use compatible environments, including Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gemini Enterprise, to interact with intranet content, communications and analytics while retaining their existing access permissions.
For organizations investing in enterprise AI infrastructure, the range of available capabilities influences how much practical work an assistant can support. Interact MCP spans 26 intranet areas, covering content, communications, communities and analytics. Authorized users can search, read, create, edit and perform actions through the same validated tools that underpin Cue and Conductor.
The actions available to users depend on the AI assistant, its configuration and the permissions associated with the user’s account.
The announcement addresses a key consideration for enterprise AI adoption: whether assistants can do more than retrieve information and help employees complete tasks through the systems they already use. By connecting AI assistants to a defined set of intranet tools, Interact MCP enables supported actions to progress directly from an AI conversation.
“Enterprise AI becomes more useful when it can work with the knowledge and tools a business depends on,” said Tom Walters, VP of Product at Interact Software. “With Interact MCP, approved assistants can help people find answers, update content and act across the intranet using the same tools that power Cue and Conductor. Employees gain more ways to get work done, while organizations retain control over access and changes.”
Connecting Workplace Knowledge with Everyday Tasks
For communications, human resources and IT teams, Interact MCP connects employee questions with tasks that can be completed through approved tools. Its consistent interface allows organizations to evaluate both the information an AI agent can access and the actions it is authorized to perform.
For example, an employee asking about the rules for accepting a supplier gift could receive an answer based on the relevant policy, along with a link to verify the information. A communications team preparing an update on parental leave could draft a page and revise approved wording. Meanwhile, an intranet platform owner assessing engagement could compare audience groups and identify areas requiring further investigation.
In each scenario, the actions remain subject to the permissions of the employee making the request.
The integration also supports connections with external workplace systems. Conductor can access supported MCP-enabled services, including Workday and SAP, bringing connected applications into Interact. This provides organizations with a way to connect their intranet to existing enterprise assistants and business systems.
Built on Cue and Conductor
Interact MCP builds on the capabilities of Cue and Conductor, which support different aspects of the employee experience.
Cue delivers a personalized employee experience, helping employees discover information, understand priorities and take authorized next steps. Conductor supports communications, HR and IT teams responsible for managing that experience, translating objectives into coordinated activities with human review.
Interact MCP extends these underlying platform capabilities to compatible external AI assistants and agents.
This shared foundation gives organizations flexibility in how employees initiate tasks. Work can begin within Interact or through an approved AI assistant, while the employee’s identity, access permissions and applicable rules continue to govern the requested action.
Enterprise Controls for AI-Driven Interactions
Interact MCP is designed to extend intranet capabilities to approved AI assistants without removing existing access and governance controls.
Each request operates under the identity of the signed-in employee. Administrators determine which tools are enabled, while changes are subject to Interact’s validation processes, version history and attribution mechanisms.
This approach allows organizations to make intranet information and actions available through approved AI environments while maintaining oversight of access, content changes and employee permissions.
