Protectt.ai Acquires Majority Stake in AIShield to Expand Enterprise AI Security

Manish Mimani, Founder and CEO, Protectt.ai.

The strategic investment will establish AIShield as an independent company under Protectt.ai, combining mobile application security expertise with AI protection capabilities and supporting the development of sovereign AI security solutions.

Protectt.ai Labs has announced a strategic investment in AIShield, an AI security platform incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW). The transaction aims to accelerate AIShield’s growth, expand its market presence and strengthen enterprise AI security capabilities.

Through a primary share issuance and a secondary purchase from existing investors, Protectt.ai has become the majority shareholder in AIShield. Following the transaction, AIShield will operate as an independent entity, AIShield Private Limited (AISW), under Protectt.ai.

The partnership combines Protectt.ai’s expertise in mobile application security and its presence across regulated industries with AIShield’s engineering capabilities and innovation ecosystem. The investment will support research and development, international expansion and the development of sovereign AI security capabilities.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into critical business processes, enterprises, particularly those in regulated sectors, are placing greater emphasis on securing, governing and controlling their AI environments. The partnership aims to address these requirements by bringing together AIShield’s AI security platform, Protectt.ai’s mobile application security capabilities and its established customer relationships.

“AI is moving from pilots into production across banking and regulated enterprises, and the security stack has to evolve with it. AIShield brings a proven platform, a strong engineering team and a deep patent portfolio. Together, Protectt.ai and Bosch aim to build India’s first full-stack AI security platform, covering AI for Security, Security for AI and Sovereign AI Security, so enterprises can adopt AI confidently with the resilience and the control it demands. We are pleased to have Bosch alongside us as a strategic partner,” said Manish Mimani, Founder and CEO, Protectt.ai.

AIShield Expands AI Security Capabilities from Development to Production

AIShield was established to address security challenges arising from the enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Its platform supports AI security across the development and production lifecycle, combining AI security assessments and red teaming with runtime protection and safety guardrails.

The platform addresses AI-specific cybersecurity risks, including prompt injection and vulnerabilities in AI applications. AIShield has more than 40 patent filings, including 11 granted patent families, and serves customers across Europe and the Middle East.

By bringing AIShield into its portfolio, Protectt.ai aims to strengthen its capabilities in securing AI applications and help enterprises address emerging risks as they deploy AI systems in business-critical environments.

Protectt.ai to Combine Mobile and AI Security Expertise

Protectt.ai is an AI-native cybersecurity company specializing in mobile application security, AI security and AI-native offensive security. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, the company serves banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), insurers, fintech businesses and government platforms in India, with a presence across India, the UAE and the United States.

The partnership will allow Protectt.ai to combine its mobile application security assets and customer relationships with AIShield’s AI security technology. It is also expected to support AIShield’s expansion into Asian markets.

Protectt.ai will contribute its established customer relationships, particularly across banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), helping extend AIShield’s solutions to organizations operating in regulated environments.

Sovereign AI Security Becomes a Strategic Focus

As AI adoption accelerates, enterprises face evolving security and regulatory requirements across markets. Organizations are increasingly seeking greater control over where their AI systems, data and workloads are hosted, as well as how these environments are governed.

The partnership will support the development and adoption of sovereign AI security capabilities, helping organizations strengthen control over AI environments while addressing changing security and compliance requirements.

The transaction marks a new stage in AIShield’s development, moving from an innovation incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies to an independent AI security company positioned to expand its technology, customer base and international reach.

The collaboration brings together Protectt.ai’s cybersecurity expertise and enterprise relationships with AIShield’s AI security platform to address the evolving requirements of businesses adopting artificial intelligence.

Bessemer Venture Partners Sees Growing Maturity in India’s Technology Ecosystem

Commenting on the partnership, Vishal Gupta, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, said, “For investors, this is an encouraging sign of ecosystem maturity. It demonstrates that Indian startups can create sufficient scale, credibility and market leadership to become preferred partners for global technology assets. We expect to see more such transactions as Indian companies expand their global footprint and compete in category-defining markets.”
